Opening Day....no rain delays

Indoors has started and ironically it rained. The courts were
refinished..finally. 25 guys for 5 teams. Ray and Larry were in top
form from outdoors and I was not as lazy. Big Steve returned from a
summer tour in Germany. A couple of new faces, but the usual suspects.
Looks like some good balling...more to come.

Thanks ang(gelo, screamer) and big mike for getting it going.

Additional Geicky Award....

Best Nickname  (nominated by Big Mike)
"Screamer" goes to Angelo (that Van is rocking).

Still no comments on the posts?  Come on, let's get some comedy going.

Reminder....Sunday $75 bucks for the season.  No daily!!!

Recap of 9/20 and the Geicky Awards

Please scroll down and review all the photos.  Note:  Simply double click on a photo to enlarge to full screen.  Also, when you get to the bottom, click on "older posts" as there were alot of pictures.

As for the recap...well Sunday was the unofficial last outdoor session for a bunch of us as we are moving indoors (thank God...I am really not enjoying the outdoor courts).  Missing in action....Big Steve (still on tour with the band).  Big Jeff (Sharon!!!! you might not get this one).  Joe (knicks shirt was in the wash), etc, etc.

Not much else to report, other than I seem to be getting more trash talk during the games from opponents due to the blog (ie. Put that in the blog during a block of one of my shots.  Thanks Scott!!!), so let's get to the Geicky awards:  I thought long and hard on these so let's get right to it.

1. Larry (the point guard, non-customs, the other larry)

Fundamental rebounding

delay in report for 9/20

There is a delay in the recap for 9/20.  I want to do it justice.  I have a bunch of photos and have to sort out the Geicky Awards for the season. (plus I tripped in the house and spilled some water on the keyboard....acting a little funny....the keyboard too!!!)

Preview for Sunday 9/20

Looks like a clear day for Sunday....High of 74 for the season finale of the outdoor season for a bunch of us that will play indoors after.  Don't forget Lloyd road is full season $75, no daily admission.  Payment upfront.  Let's all make it easy on the guys that organized this and bring your cash upfront and lock in your spot with the cap of first 30.

Look for the recap of tomorrow where I will be giving out the 2009 Outdoor season awards.  Should be interesting.

Get some rest and see you tomorrow.

Some action photos

Some Nice D and the game winner.

Nice english!!!

I like the English on this one, but what is
everyone looking at?

Johnny's Parking Spot

I understand why Johnny didn't make it.

Recap Sunday 9/13

The rain held, but the courts were damp. Thanks to Wayne, "the commish", and his grounds crew for getting the courts in shape. Luckily the sun took care of the rest later. 3 team, 5, 5, and 4 and then Ray showed up to even up the 3 teams. I "volunteered" my team to sit with some creative finger throwing. (my team was thrilled). After the first game 1 vs. 2 game, we were ready to come on when the Marlan Show got out of bed and made an appearance. Bam....4 teams of 4. Big "lil" Scott, was dominating the courts with he new and improved quickness from his 65 lb shedding. Rumor is he will trade the H3 for an H2 for his new lean, mean, fighting machine physique. MIA - Customs, Bob, Steve (heard he was busy getting the band back together), Angelo ("Gelo") (heard that van was a rockin'), and Johnny (see picture of parking spot....enough said). Happy birthday to Paul (Paulie), I know he was glad I was not in front of him this week, driving 10 mph under the speed limit. Wayne left early....heard the beach was still open and being stuck on my team I can't blame him. I was pathetic today, but did get some photos. Maybe I will actually get some basketball commentary in here next week. Enjoy the week and stay healthy.

Preview for Sunday 9/13 outdoors

Forecast 62 and party cloudly. Hopefully we can get 20 tomorrow. I think the turnout should be good with all the rain on Friday and Saturday. I think some people will be looking to shed some calories from the weekend (ie. ME!!!). Hope the achilles holds up. Trying to get my photographer there to take some photos for here.

Let's get some comments on here....you don't have to register, just click add comment and proceed.

Hopefully have a better recap this week, if not I might have to hire Johnny for some professional writing. Just don't park to close to his car!!!

Monday 9/7 Recap

Customs Larry and Larry on the same team. The wind was a factor and the lack of attendance was a factor. Weather held to get several games in. Big Mike fouled out within minutes and him and Customs put on a Ali/Frazier battle inside. Worth the free park entrance as always. Ez was defying the wind with some ice maker shots. I took it easy most of the day except for two full court breaks that were either highly skilled moves or just pure luck. I will let you decide on that. Of course the Sultan of Swat was impressive with his high percentage shots. Wayne left early for the beach to maintain his deep dark summer tan. Just getting this going......More to come.....Look out!!!
