Ez Cleared to play.

Ez went to the hospital and was checked out to make sure it was just a bruise.  Doctors have cleared him to play, so that is good news.

Thanks Ang for checking up on him.

Ez--Glad you are ok.

Larry vs. Larry.

Talk about classic matchups today, Foreman vs Ali, Kramer vs. Kramer, and now Larry vs. Larry.  First.....Hope Ez is feeling ok.  He took a pretty hard fall today and hit his head, so hopefully he is ok and not dizzy reading this.  MIA today....Jeff, Wayne, Big Steve, Big John, Big Mike Jr., Shooter Mike, Bob the Legend (where have you been?), Knicks Joe, Johnny, Big Joe (hard to remember them all without the list so perhaps I missed a few...my apologies).  New additions this week...Adrian, Greg (from the family), Ronnie, and  Ron (from Geick).  Back to Larry vs. Larry.....quite a battle for a bit and good too see the two Larry's matched up for a bit.

During the last game, Jun was on fire.....some rainbows, some layups, etc.  Impressive run.

The pictures speak for the rest.

I have postponed this week's courtside chat due to the number of posts below of pictures.  (about 9 posts, so scroll all the way down to last week's post) (click older posts at the bottom if you have gotten all the way there).  Also, when posting comments, click on "comments" and select profile "name/url", enter name and leave "url" blank, enter comment and click post.  This way you don't have to register to post comments.

Preview of next week's courtside chat with Big Mike...quote "If am allowed 6 fouls, I will use 5".

Ez....feel better.

Enjoy the pictures and let's get some comments.

Have a good week and Happy Halloween.

Classic Matchup.

Big Mike vs. Mark.....you know what's next......

Foul!!!

The runner....

Fabian with the floater.   Nice!!!

Posers! Play the game.....

And stop posing for the camera. Notice Big Mike practicing for the trick or treaters next weekend. "arghhh".

Yo Adrian....

Adrian's first Lloyd appearance.....he quickly warmed up.

The hook!!!

Show us your vertical.....

Nice D Gary, but does it look like Kam is shooting?

Cole - Still showing the vertical.

Finishers....Larry and Ray...tough team.

Ray on the break

Larry...non-Customs

The newest boy band....

The newest boy band showing off their new dance moves.  We are thankful for the celebrity appearance today.

Vintage Murph.

Murph going deep.  Nothing but net.  Good to have him back healthy.

Jun -- En Fuego!!!

Jun earlier in the day.  He put on quite a show later during the last game on the big court.  (Big Mike always looking good for the camera)

Cole Bleeds Georgia Red!!!

Cole was out with a nose bleed...Georgia Red,  but that didn't stop him. He quickly returned to finish the day.  Would not expect anything less from him.
As for other highlights....well Ray was en fuego along with shooter Mike quite a long distance shootout, but have to give it to Ray today....Wow, haven't seen a shooting day like that!!!  Big Mike Jr. hit the deck many times today....ouch....makes me sore just thinking about it.  Not sure why everyone started leaving around 10, but we can stay till 10:30 where Customs hit a nice 3 at the end.  After the buzzer?  Well it counted so that is all that matters.
Big Jeff -- Feel better.  (I believe he went down with an injury on the other court and had to leave early).  MIA -- Wayne, hope the leg is nearly healed.  Sean--not enough Mt. Dew this morning? Bob the legend, Big John, Murph.

Sorry...no photos this week.....hopefully some next week.

As for the new feature this week....."Courtside Chats".  Today's featured guest Angelo....(aka...Ang, The Screamer, or my personal favorite that I made up..."Gelo" kind of like "Melo")

Ang began his career in the 3rd grade and I think it's only fitting that we dedicate the first Courtside Chat to his first coach who taught Angelo to run and work hard.  Unfortunately his coach was drafted and killed in Vietnam so in tribute to him in shaping Angelo, we can only say "Thank you Coach".  Angelo moved up the ranks and played in catholic school and managed to play 3 years of high school varsity for Don Bosco Prep.  He went on to college at the University of Dayton and did attempt the walkon route, but unfortunately did not make it.  He went out to coach various AAU teams coaching 2 of his daughters and bought the infamous "that van is rocking" for the many team trips.  He is now known for the sweet shot from the corner and for his fair play...."Choose it" is now trademarked and used across the nation in various Sunday pickup games thanks to him.

Next week's Courtside Chat.....Big Mike...we all have been fouled by him at one point.  What makes him tick?  Find out next week......

More photos....

Big Steve

Did he learn this from Dirk while in Germany?

Steve Abdul Jabbar?

Ez and Joe.

Separated at birth?

Big John

No shot is too far for Big John.

Down goes Mike, down goes Mike.....

The damage....ouch.

This is what Big Mike's sees through those glasses.  We need to talk!!!

Bloody Sunday!!!

Well Sunday turned into Bloody Sunday as the glasses that are to protect inflicted two cuts into Big Mike and he was down for an 8 count. In usual fashion he recovered quickly and was back on the court. Cole has returned to his signature parking spot and Georgia Red!!! Good to have you back, picks and all. Sean was throwing up some deep shots today....wow. Mike A 2nd week back from MIA is playing in top form....granted not looking, but playing. Big John was throwing up some effortless shots that make us all go...ughhh!!! The 10:30 finish weeded out most people by 10, so the remaining few moved to the big court where blog photographer took over the picture taking. Much to my suprise, there were over 1700...yes 17 Hundred pictures. Needless to say, it is going to take me a bit longer to edit them. I will post a few highlights and probably dump the rest in a slide show. I think I have gotten through half already.

Wayne...hope you are feeling better. Johnny and Paul...hope the leg recovers for next week.

And Big Mike...we seriously need to talk about what you are seeing through those glasses. Thanks to Charlie's undercover work, we now know!!!

Ah....not having to pull the bleachers out....priceless.

Next week...I will be starting Courtside Chats where I will profile a different player each week. Thought it made sense to start with Angelo, aka Gelo, the screamer, That van is rocking, etc, etc. for the first Courtside Chat.

Geick Pictures - SlideShow

Just reposting all Geick Photos from 9/13 and 9/20.....some were not posted earlier. (Click on view all images to navigate to individual).

October 11 Preview

Looks like another clear day indoors tomorrow.  8:00 am start till 10:30. Ran into the Geick "commish" and I quote..."I might have dodged a bullet last week".  Translation.....knee is not serious, but he will be out tomorrow on the IR list, unfortunately Mr. Tebow's doctor didn't clear him.  Perhaps next week especially if we get Shaq and the alumni to play against.  See you tomorrow.  Get some rest!!!

Foggy morning, but oh so sunny and clear....Inside!!!

Loving indoors.....the clear skies and perfect temperature, although the ball ending up out the door a few times doesn't help.  Back to the day....Turnout of about 27 today with "the commish" unfortunately going down with an injury early.  Hope it's minor and you will be back sunday. 5 teams in the rotation today and the random team selections turned out ok after a slight adjustment to one team who averaged the 4 of the tallest guys and Sean and no he didn't balance it out.  Mike A. returned from taking the summer off and was in quick form with some deep shots.  Impressive, although he was thinking how much better people have gotten.  I think the key is normally when we start up indoors, its after a few months off, but not now....straight from outdoors to in, is keeping the games more intense and the middle is quite crowed.  KG (yes its KG, not KJ) was throwing up some crazy highlight shots along with Larry's newly patented runner off the glass (or metal) being quite effective.  Unfortunately my photographer did not get up till after the games were over so no pictures.  Might be a firing soon!!!  MIA today....Johnny and Paul B.  The key summary for the day is any controversial calls....."Choose It".   Disappointed that I didn't get to play Bob the Legend's team....not as fun chatting it up inside with Customs....He was on me like glue today....Nice D and my pick for defensive player of the day!!!  Enjoy the week and see you Sunday and a speedy recovery to "the commish".

PS.  What was with Fabian's bank shots from deep?  He is so confused without that 3 point line, but still effective.  Hopefully you don't have to move till after the season.  Oh yeah, speaking of patented shots....Jun....couple of sweet rainbows in the first game!!!

Let's get some comments going and make it a little more interactive.
