Aberdeen Beach Cleanup Day - April, 30, 2011
Looks like they are putting up the pole for the new beach basketball court.
Shouldn't they be cleaning up, instead of posing for pictures.
Is this some sort of European urinal?

The blog is officially back and re-launched. I can't guarantee I will do it every week, but will try at least a few times a month. Enjoy the photos, including ones from November. Click on "Older Posts" to go back to the following posts.
Reminder -- Rules as follows:
(Updated 09/12/2010) These rules are meant for competitive & speed of fair play
Rules:
1. The first 10 in the gym form the first two teams.
a) Two captains will be assigned to choose the team
b) This is repeated for the second court for the next 10 players
c) Remaining players after 20, make up the fifth, sixth, etc. teams
2. All games to “9” with the following exceptions.
a) All games starting after arrival of the 31st player, three teams waiting, will be “7” baskets. Games stay at “7” until we are down to “25”, or fewer, players.
b) For the last game of the session, players can set game point.
3. Winning team stay on their own court, unless there is only “4” teams.
a) If only “4” teams, wining/loosing teams play each other. Winning teams play on the left court, as you enter the gym, losing teams on the right.
4. Winning team gets the ball, and stay in the same direction, as the previous game.
a) If only “4” teams, wining/loosing team play each other. One team member shoots for ball or basket. If basket is made, team picks the ball or the basket. If not, other team picks ball or basket.
5. Court Out of Bounds
a) Bleachers are out on end lines.
b) Sideline is the wall
c) Extended half court on the main court is the other side line
d) Hitting any obstructions, i.e. monkey bars, or any part of the main court basket, is considered an out of bounds. Note: Interference, by a player, not a member of the two teams playing, or another ball on the court is a dead ball. The offensive team gets the ball back.
6. FOULS can be called by both teams.
a) No foul is an assumed foul.
b) Offensive player calls their own foul.
c) Defensive players can offer the call as a matter of “Fair Play.” The offensive player has the ultimate final call, to take the foul or the basket.
d) In regards to continuation plays, the offensive player can not wait to see if the basket is made to call the foul. Foul is to be called on the shot.
7. After a made basket, the ball is “live.” The offensive can move the ball as fast as they like. Offensive players can stop the action, anytime they choose.
8. On a check “off from the top:
a) Ball must be inbounded from above the top of the key
b) The defender, covering the in-bounder, gives a (grace) foot and a half distance. (Note: There is no free pass.)
c) An offensive player can not go between “the foot and half (grace) distance”, i.e. the in-bounder and defender.
d) The in-bounder can not dribble or move past a pivot step.
e) The inbound pass can go behind the extended line of the in-bounder
f) Defense can go behind the extended line.
g) Once the ball is inbounded, all shots are available to all offensive players.
9. Ball hitting the top or side of the backboard is out. Ball going behind the backboard is out. (Note: Ball hitting the bottom of the backboard is good.)
10. If the ball is wedged between the basket and the backboard- the offense loses possession
11. Fouls shots will not be used to get on a team. All the eligible players will choose, i.e. Wayne’s method, to get on the next team playing.
